Biography

Daren has been teaching for over 15 years in both primary and secondary schools (state, non-state and international IB schools overseas). Daren has a post-graduate Masters degree in teaching students with special needs (QUT) and a post-graduate degree in teaching gifted students (UNSW). Graduating from both with High Distinction, Daren then went on to and is currently completing a PhD at the Queensland University of Technology conducting case study research in individualising instruction in the 21st century classroom. Daren has a vision for learning to be more engaging and meaningful for students through the use of differentiated instruction and technology. Daren has won various teaching excellence awards, has co-ordinated post-graduate training programs internationally in teaching gifted students, and collaborates with other inspiring educators who are all Microsoft Educators. 

BREAKOUT SESSION 1 – Virtual Reality in the Classroom
Target audience ALL

This session will explore the potential of Virtual Reality (VR) in the classroom. The presentation will be followed by hands-on experiences using different VR apps and a 360 degree camera. Share in the experience of walking through the human body or exploring outer space from the comfort of your classroom.
